The IPMHG Guest Talk Series

Meet The World Leaders In Perinatal Mental Health Who Have Given Guest Talks To The IPMHG.

We believe that research supports evidence based best practice, policy, and information. Research also enables those with a passion for parental wellbeing and family development to build a community, network, and learn from one another. The Interdisciplinary Perinatal Mental Health Group (IPMHG) Guest Talk Series are free online talks from those involved in research education and provision, and are available to IPMHG members.

Professor Louise Brown

Professor Louise Howard is a Professor in Women’s Mental Health at KCL and an Honorary Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Professor Brown presented data on large scale studies of mental and physical illness overlap in disadvantaged perinatal groups

Dr. Hanley has over 30 years experience in perinatal mental health practice, research, and training. Dr. Hanley presented data on the impact of becoming a parent on mothers, their partners, and their children

Dr. Adam Boyette is a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology. Dr. Boyette is an anthropologist focusing on researching diverse cultural groups to consider the essential and adaptive aspects of families, child rearing, and child development. Dr. Boyette presented data on similarities and differences in perinatal experiences in communities of foragers and subsistence farmers in the tropical forests of Central African Republic and Congo-Brazzaville
